Welcome to the fir
st post on flashpackerfamily.com!

We have created this blog to document our semi-nomadic life, share our travel knowledge, encourage location independence and connect with other families who explore the world with their children.

Who are we?

We are the flashpacker family – Lee, Bethaney and Reuben.  Get to know a bit about who we are and our flashpacker-style of travel on the About Us page.

Where are we now?

We’re currently in Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia.  It’s our second home base as we have a house swap arrangement in place with Lee’s parents.  This is our third visit in 12 months and each time we stay for around two months.  We’re really getting to know the area and have access to a lovely house on the canal and a car so we sort of feel like locals.  It’s a holiday hot-spot and is popular with Australians and New Zealanders looking for a week long vacation in the sun.  It’s super relaxing, warm and sunny (most of the time!) which really makes it feel like a holiday.  We get to spend a lot of time outdoors in the garden, walking the esplanade, hitting the beach and playing at the excellent playgrounds which are on almost every block.  We’re loving the access to fresh tropical fruit and having a supermarket a two minute drive away – something we don’t usually have.

What are we doing?

Over the coming weeks, I’ll be creating the basis of our blog.  I’ve got a wealth of content swimming around in my head just waiting to be turned into informative posts on how we plan our travel, trips we’ve already done and how we lead a location independent life.  After that I’ll be working on posting on the road when we resume travelling in Asia at the beginning of May.

Looking forward to getting our first subscribers, likes and followers!
